Beyond these Shores

Further afield, the adventure changes shape. Instead of the quiet, subtle compositions of home, chasing dark skies across mainland Europe has taken me up shelf roads clinging to mountainsides in the Ligurian Alps, into the volcanic hills of the Eifel, up onto ridgelines above the Pyrenees, into thin air on the island of La Palma and beneath the aurora over Norway's fjords. Higher altitudes, cleaner atmosphere and properly dark skies bring a different kind of reward: bigger drives, bigger risks, and nights that stay with me long after I'm home. Mostly Europe for now, but I hope this page is just getting started.
