From Cornish granite to Welsh waterfalls, chalk downs to shingle spits, the rest of the UK has given me some of my most memorable nights under the stars. Where East Anglia rewards patience and a keen eye for the subtle, these landscapes tend to announce themselves: rugged coastlines, dramatic cliffs, ancient mountains and wide open moorland, each with its own character and its own challenge to reach.
